What problems do we solve
Nowadays, quality control at terminals is a tedious job which can cause serious delays and face environmental challenges. Typically, a sample is taken using an open sampling system. The sample is then sent to a laboratory, and quality results can take hours to receive. Any anomalies prior to or during the transfer (such as contamination, water, etc.) can only be detected after the laboratory results are obtained. Resolving an incorrect transfer is often a job that takes time, which can cause delays for day-to-day operations and affect the pull-through at terminals. This can involve considerable costs.
How we do it
We offer a Q\Platform based on NIR (Near-infrared) technology that detects contaminations real-time during a product transfer. This prevents or limits the damage done by an incorrect transfer. The measurement is taken continuously so any deviation during the product transfer will be detected immediately. This results in cost-effective, safe and on-time operations. No hazardous (open) sampling is needed, no operational delay waiting for lab analysis and no consequential damages occur. We offer a stand-alone platform or integration into a DCS (Distributed Control System)

The existing sampling method is mostly done with ‘open’ systems: this causes the fuel to be directly exposed to the environment as well the people taking samples. The sampling method is unsafe, unhealthy and takes a time before the lab analysis is available. FuQon offers a solution that is safe, clean, environmentally friendly and fast.
Sustainability:
Todays companies want to make an impact that goes beyond profitability. There is a shift towards sustainable fuels and safe, reliable and healthy environment for all people involved in the value chain. Manual sampling is not representative, has high cost and comes with the risk of inhaling carcinogenic vapors. A closed system that tracks the quality real-time and continuous will help to build a sustainable environment.
Quality:
Standard fuels are stored in huge storage tanks. These fuels are blended or treated with additives to customer specifications. The FuQon quality system, guarantees and supports continuous quality control during inbound and outbound transfer, as well as during the blending / additivation process and line displacement.
Profitability:
The profitability of terminals depends on the throughput, blending/ additivation and storage services. Delays in the throughput caused by quality incidents have a serious impact on the profit at terminals.
